Recycling is the process of reusing or reprocessing a used product to be added back into the lifecycle for further use. Recycled polyester fibre is made by using recycled plastic water bottles or similar thermoplastic materials as a raw material for making yarn. PET bottles and packaging waste, washed and mechanically broken down, are converted back into fibre through thermal processes. Our product is made from approximately 20 recycled 1-liter PET bottles. The main advantage of using recycled polyester fibre is reducing the amount of plastic bottles in landfills and oceans. Using recycled plastic bottles in the production of polyester fibre results in approximately 40% reduction in CO2 emissions, 50% improvement in energy savings, and 20% improvement in water savings.
